Welcome to October ...

It's another challenge here on Pixels and Paper.  This month we have a rather shabby chic image for you to take some inspiration from.  You may like the vintage feel of this photograph and run with using lace on your page or perhaps you are drawn to the flowers and work those onto your entry in some way.  Maybe you like the colour white and add in pale pink and yellow as your accent colours. Or possibly you prefer the shapes in this image and like to use a combination of rectangles and ovals and hexagons on your page.  Whatever inspires you about our image, please share it with us.

CRITERIA - The use of frames on your entry

DI
I felt there was a shabby chic, vintage tone to the inspiration photo this month. I used the idea of overlapping frames, the colour white and the lace. I used a stencil and a white pearlised modelling cream for my frames. The paper I chose for the background had a lace print on it and I added to this idea by using diecut 'lace' corners. To give the effect of something with a more vintage feel to it I also added a scattering of flowers, some made from ribbon and others with quilling on them, using gold or pearlised cream paper..... hopefully looking like the roses they are supposed to be!

KAREN
I liked the idea of using more than one frame on a page, and using overlapping layers. I used vellum frames, stitched in place over the top of my photographs.

REBECCA
I was inspired by the oval shapes and layers of frames.

LYNNE
I was inspired by the lace and the vintage feel of the photo as well as by the frames.

SHAZZA
I cut a frame in half and used both pieces on my page.  I'm blowing you all a kiss :)

PHILLIS
I was drawn to the white of the inspiration photo. So I scrapped a winter picture. I added the big frame around my photo and some other small frames for accent

DEB
(Coming soon)

JANE
I ran with the vintage feel of the image and also picked up the buff colour of one of the roses as my main colour.  I added in lace as a background strip and with the flowers I have used.
