April Team Training ...

Welcome to our latest edition of Team Training brought to you this month by Rebecca Daly.

Each month one of our team will inspire you with a little tutorial, tip or trick to help you in your scrapbooking pursuits.

Hello everyone!!! Hope you are having a fabulous day!!! It’s Rebecca and today I have a fun tutorial for you. I am also looking for new ways to make new backgrounds. Then one day I was playing in my craft room and I was finding that my original idea for a background was too heavy/bold so I decided to try something new and I love it!!! I used a die-cut, blending tool and ink to create a very fun background.

 Here is a step-by-step:

1)     I cut my image from the silhouette (here I used clouds)

2)     Using my blending ink  (here I used cats eye ink by clearsnap but any ink and blending tool will work)

3)     Start at the top and work from left to right

4)     Move the ink over your die cut onto your paper in circular motions

5)     Continue until you are happy

6)     I flipped my die cut so I would get different cloud patterns as I moved down my paper

7)     Voila new background
Thank you for visiting us, hope you can play along and link your project for your chance to win a great prize this month.

Our April guest ...

Please welcome our guest designer for this month, Wendy Crowe with her delightful take on our inspiration image for April.

I loved adding the tans and browns, the more muted colors for Easter.  And the addition of raffia is probably my favorite part.

My name is Wendy Crowe and I have been scrapbooking for about 15 years now.  I am addicted to the traditional paper scrapping.  I love having lots of “stuff” to play with.  I am married to a very patient guy who makes sure I have plenty of “me” time.  I have 3 wonderful kids,  2 daughters (26 and 15) and a son (9).  With those age differences, I am lucky to have dabbled in just about every subject that can be scrapbooked.  And I get to shop…a lot!

I am happy to have found challenge blogs like Pixels and Paper that really offer lots of inspiration.  Thanks for letting me be a Guest Designer!

My favorite most recent layouts:

Thank you so much for guesting with us this month Wendy, it has been delightful having you join in with us.

Everyone has until the end off the month to play along with our Pixels and Paper challenge. We'd love to see your entries based on this image and our EASTER criteria.

Happy to have you April ...

Having just endured the wettest March since most of us can remember all I can say is roll on April, please bring us some fine weather and sunshine.

This month we are celebrating Easter on Pixels and Paper with this cute inspiration image.  Your page certainly doesn't have to be about chocolate or bunnies, it can be about family gatherings, school Easter hat parades, egg hunts, trips away over this holiday period, fun things you did with the kids, whatever you like really - just don't forget to tell us what inspired you from our photograph.

CRITERIA - An Easter theme

And this is how our team was inspired ...

KAREN
I went on a photography trip for this assignment. I visited some local shops and took photographs of the Easter goodies that have started to spring up everywhere!

REBECCA
I was inspired by the Easter egg. I used pictures from my son's outdoor Easter Egg hunt at his grandparents.

SHAZZA
I found inspiration in the rabbit - here am I with our Bunnings Bunny.

LYNNE
I was inspired by the chocolate bunny and right away knew I wanted to use this sentiment for my Easter card!

PHILLIS

I used the yellow egg as my inspiration for my layout.  I scrapped this photo of my son on Easter in 2003.

DI
This month I took inspiration from the chocolate Easter rabbit and the eggs to make a card. The eggs have been cut from watercolour paper which was a mop-up-sheet. The rabbit has been cut from cardstock smooshed with a couple of different brown distress inks.

JANE
I was inspired by the colours in the egg and the chocolate of course!

Hope you can come and join in with our challenge this month, we need more of you playing along with us and winning some great prizes.  Please remember we only accept combining our challenge with a sketch challenge.

Please upload your entry to the link tool on the LEFT by 11.55pm on April 30th.

We can't wait to see your pages.

Please come back on the 8th when we will announce our winners for March.
